Nissan GT-R End-Over

Nissan GT-R Roll-over Crash
Here's something you don't see everyday. Almost Everything's Wreck of the Day is a Nissan GT-R Racer. In the video several GT-Rs pass by during the 2014 Long Tom Hill Climb race in the town of Sabie, Mpumalanga, South Africa. The last car takes the turn a little too fast, flips several times before disappearing down a ravine. This was the fourth run of the day for 47 year old driver Wilhelm Baard. Fortunately he was not seriously injured and attended the awards ceremony at the end of the event. Baard won South Africa's Knysna Hill Climb in 2011 in a GT-R.

The 2014 Long Tom Hill Climb took place on January 25th and 26th. It was sponsored by Renault (Nissan's parent) and the Sports Car Club of South Africa. The race covers 6.3 km (3.9 miles) along the banks of the Sabie River in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The next video shows cars leaving the starting line and beginning their assault on the hill. The sounds are great.

Many thanks to the spectators who recorded these videos, our friends at WreckedExotics.com who reliably find an astonishing amount of this type stuff on a daily basis, and to AutoEvolution who provided us with the background story and more images of the event.

1991 Toyota MR2 Customization and Paint Job!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1991 Toyota MR2.  This "Poor Man's Ferrari" came to our shop looking like a "Poor Man's Toyota" (No Offense Toyota) its previous owners decided to Spray Paint the entire car. In addition to the spray paint, the body kit was improperly mounted, damaged, and needed replacement! The MR2's owner acquired all of the replacement parts while we tore down the car.  We mounted the new bodykit so that it fit as close to perfect as possible after repainting the car with Ford's "Hulla Blue Metallic" color that this car's owner had requested in our "Base Coat-Clear Coat" paint!

1964 Chevrolet Impala SS with Auto paint

Today's Car of the Day is a 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS that needed paint on the fuel door, glove box door, and fender skirts. Almost Everything Autobody painted these parts to match the rest of the car and installed right and left headlamp bezels.

1994 Chevrolet C1500 Color Restoration!

Almost Everything's Car of the Day is a 1994 Chevrolet C1500 Pickup. When this classic step-side truck came to Almost Everything, it looked like its original white paint had seen its better days. The clear coat was "delaminating" or "peeling", it had lots of rock chips and scratches and it was simply in need of new paint! We began by removing certain items that we were to be either replaced or reinstalled after the paint had been completed, repaired and smoothed some dings and dents in the body sides, and removed the peeling paint by machine sanding the surface until it was smooth.  Once the preliminary body work was complete, we moved on to chemically cleaning the truck, masking off all remaining trim pieces and the windows, sealing the smooth surface with a primer and finally refinishing the entire exterior of the vehicle with our premium Base Coat / Clear Coat paint! We re-assembled and replaced the items that were taken off prior to paint, detailed the interior and exterior, and finished off the truck's new look with some menacing looking black housing taillights!
